GDC 2014: I’m on a Mission

At GDC 2013 I was blown away by the lack of understanding of COPPA law. This year I’m offering devs the opportunity to have their games reviewed for COPPA compliance, get questions answered, and get expert advice for easing COPPA pain points at GDC 2014.

For those of you following this blog you know how hard we’ve been working to educate game developers on the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA). Next week I’m headed to the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco to further this mission.

If you’re planning on attending GDC yourself I’d like to invite you to come by the AgeCheq booth (#133 in South Hall Expo) and say hello. I’ll be giving live demonstrations of AgeCheq’s integrated cloud service and API solution designed to make it easy for game developers to meet new COPPA standards. The AgeCheq solution is a free service for developers which can be integrated into any iOS or Android game, tested for compliance and posted to the app store within a day.

If you aren’t sure if your game is COPPA compliant or you have questions about the law and its most recent updates please swing by the booth.

At GDC, the AgeCheq team and I will be meeting with game developers like you to help you consider how COPPA should influence your games’ privacy and data storage practices. We’ll be running an interactive review of mobile games to help you determine your COPPA compliance status.  I’ll also be available to explain why so-called “Safe Harbor” certification programs do not provide full COPPA compliance. If you’re going to be at GDC I hope you’ll take me up on the offer to meet-up.

To schedule a meeting at GDC please leave a comment here, email my team at [email protected]" style="line-height: 1.6em;">[email protected], or just swing by the booth. I hope to see you at the show!
