Hackers gain access to details of 2.9M Adobe customers

Those developers utilizing Adobe's game development tools will want to be aware of a security update from the company today: The Flash house has admitted that it has suffered a large-scale database breach. In an update on the Adobe blog, the company said that the customer IDs and encrypted passwords of around 2.9 million Adobe customers have been accessed by cyber attackers, while customer name and encrypted credit/debit card numbers have also been pulled by attackers. As a result, Adobe has reset customer passwords, and notified customers whose credit and debit card information was taken. Notably, the company says that it does not currently believe attackers managed to gain access to decrypted credit and debit card information. Adobe is offering those affected by the breach a one-year complimentary credit monitoring membership. For now, Adobe has contacted federal law enforcement, and and is also investigating whether hackers managed to access source code for Adobe products. Customers are advised to change their passwords for Adobe accounts.
