How the Denuvo Became a Pain in Your Ass

You know what they say about catching a thief: you set one to catch another one. This is just what happened with the Denuvo system. This system is designed by former hackers who know very well what it takes to hack into a game. So, when they provide protection, they actually think just like the hacker. The difference is that they are always ahead. Those who have been playing games for free simply because someone has been able to crack through the game, seem to have had their luck finally run out. Now, they have to wait for almost ten months before they can play the games in pirate versions or wait till someone cracks into the game, which does not happen very easy.

The Denuvo's Anti-Tamper technology has been shaking things up since 2014. Anyone who still doubts that this system is the real deal should speak to famous cracker groups like 3DM and they will tell you that if things continue in this way, by 2018 there could possibly be no more free games to be played illegally.

So what makes Denuvo so effective that it is able to do things that other anti-tamper systems have failed to do? It is always looking for the methods hackers are using to attempt to crack it and then it uses that information to overcome the attempts. In other words, it stays a step ahead of the hackers. This is simply the reason why Denuvo has kept games uncracked and therefore not pirated for unprecedented periods of time.

First, it needs to be clarified that this system never claimed to be uncrackable, it just is hard to crack and that promise it has kept. Even the games that are supposed to have been cracked by Russian hackers never became widely available in the market.

The Denuvo system is changing things, those who are used to playing games for free are simply going to have to learn to start paying for them. If before, they just needed to wait a few hours before a game was available as a pirate version, that wait has just been made longer. So long that by the time they are eventually able to play it, it may not be worth their time.
