HTC is taking its first steps into the world of virtual reality game development with new VR title, Front Defense.
As noted by VentureBeat, the game is the first the HTC Vive creator has ever developed internally, and will be a tower defense game that, as you’d imagine, asks players to fend off endless waves of enemies.
When it comes to virtual reality development, HTC has upped the ante in recent months. Back in April, the mobile giant promised to invest $100 million to “cultivate the VR industry” through its new Vive X accelerator program.
Vive X will debut in Beijing, Shenzhen, Taipei, and San Francisco, and will offer support in a number of ways, including administrative and financial help from HTC's accounting teams, investment advice from top venture capitalists, and creative input from VR "thought leaders.
The SteamVR-powered HTC Vive launched on April 5, and is currently retailing for $799.
