Humans are impatient

Humans are impatient. Most people know this in the back of their mind already. Well this is to remind you for future posts to come. Those future posts will help show how "impatience" is used against consumers.

Some great comments so far over the course of the past week. Glad that I was able to start some conversation amongst the readers. From what I've heard many people were glad to see social networking covered in that sort of depth. While for some of us game designers, bloggers, and what-nots understand the power of networking, a lot of our readers and customers do not. I hope to change that with a lot of topics, offering more depth to the general public giving them a little incite into something that they have only seen the surface of. Next topic... humans are impatient by nature.

No Proof Required

I'm not going to provide direct proof at this moment. Over time if you pay attention to what I say both in this post and in future posts you will realize it if you don't already. "But Ray, I'm patient... what about me?" You, my friend, had to be taught patience. Remember when your parents used to tell you "Wait 'til after dinner and you can have your ice cream."? You cannot help but be anxious at first. Some of us can push that feeling aside after a few moments, but that want for ice cream NOW still hits you. Guess that was sort of proof, eh? Guess I lied about not giving you some ;).

The Connection

Humans being impatient is one of those few things that designers, developers, writers, magicians, musicians, and all other sorts of careers, can count on as a response to their material. This major detail can also be the reason for many other smaller details that help those of us who create things for human interaction. One example of those smaller details is the idea of a quick reward system. That's tomorrow's topic, so be patient my friends. You will get your info.

That's all folks

Today I just wanted all of you to fully accept that humans are impatient. This will be the basis for a lot of discussion for future topics when it comes to building maps, games, websites, blogs, etc for human consumption. If you are still reading at that time, I'll make sure to remind you about this article. Stay tuned tomorrow, when I show you guys one way people use YOUR impatience to THEIR advantage. That's right peepz... they are using that against you.
