Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Things to keep in mind for VR developers

I find it interesting and relieving that most of VR development is the same as developing for console/pc. Your knowledge will have to be more specialized depending on how serious you are about VR development. Something that will have an impact on my own work is trying to decide what platform you want to develop for with the knowledge that developing for mobile is easier and cheaper while developing for consoles/pc is more expensive however I personally see it as being more rewarding in the long term. Also as a developer you have to remember that most hardcore gamers play console/pc. Console players are more likely to play a VR game and play it for longer and mobile players are more likely to try your game out and stop playing it after maybe half an hour because it interferes with them texting or receiving calls when it is inside the Google cardboard or GearVR. Also something that is very important that I need to do myself is GO TO CONFERENCES. It's the best way to make connections and see what other developers are working on. Lastly probably the most important thing of all when developing for VR is to decide if you are going to develop by building off of your current developer knowledge or if you are going to learn a new skillset that you'll incorporate into your game. This is all just a question of dedication and time. It is however certain that VR is the next big thing to happen to gaming.
