A startup indie team has announced the formation of Taitale Studios, an internationally-based studio working on an MMORTS title dubbed Novus Aeterno. The company was founded by 19 year old Nick Nieuwoudt, who happens to be a former Olympic hopeful for the South African ice hockey team. His interest in games began when Nieuwoudt fled South Africa to escape "some serious and violent conflict," says Taitale chief strategy officer Marc Girolimetti. After settling in Greece, Nieuwoudt eventually found himself competing in several Crysis tournaments. Nieuwoudt later founded Taitale Studios and hired a handful of developers around to world to develop Novus Aeterno, a game that aims to blend MMO and RTS elements title that the team debuted at last weekend's PAX Prime. Novus Aeterno is currently in development for PC and Taitale says it hopes to launch a beta for the title in the near future.
