Newsbrief: As part of its planned "move into mass market online gaming," RuneScape maker Jagex has appointed Rockstar Games' former art and animation director Alex Horton as its new chief creative officer. Horton spent five years at Rockstar working on titles like Bully, Red Dead Revolver, and the Grand Theft Auto series before leaving in 2008. Since then, he's done freelance work and served as a consultant for animation/game companies like The Mill, 4mm Games, and East Pleasant Pictures. He joins the Cambridge, UK-based indie developer and publisher as it prepares to make "its next move into mass market online gaming." That move includes the upcoming launch of its Transformers Universe MMO, and the securing of investment from its new majority stake owner in the U.S., Insight Ventures.
