Publisher Namco Bandai has revealed that its RPG Tales of Xillia has already shipped over half a million copies, just a day after its release in Japan. The game topped the Japanese domestic charts as a result, according to public sales information from Amazon.co.jp, and as compiled today on Gamasutra. Tales of Xillia is the 13th title in the popular Tales series, and saw the most preorders of any Tales game to date. Namco Bandai noted that the success of the title was due, in part, to the 15-year anniversary of the Tales series, and the "strong support" from its fans. Another recent big seller in Japan was Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD Ver. on the PlayStation 3, which sold over 280,000 in its first weekend of sales.
