Edinburgh-based R&D consultancy Jumpstart has helped British developers claim over £226,000 (about $364,000) in tax credits since partnering with trade organization UKIE in May. The group, which claims to have a 98.6 success rate in applying for tax credits since its 2008 formation, says it hopes to save the game industry upwards of £1 million ($1.61 million), according to a statement from UKIE. "I am delighted that this initiative has created tangible benefit so quickly," UKIE chairman and Mastertronic director Andy Payne said in a statement. "Jumpstart worked closely with Mastertronic and submitted a cast-iron claim which has maximised our R&D tax break revenue." Jumpstart employs a team of 31 technical and scientific experts to developers help put together tax credit requests that will comply with the with HMRC requirements. UKIE members get "exclusively preferential rates" for the service, thanks to the partnership.
