Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Edwards will help lead the organization's efforts to raise awareness and combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the video game industry.
Kate Edwards has joined the board of directors at mental health awareness non-profit Take This after stepping down as the executive director of the IGDA last month.
Edwards opted to leave the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) after fulfilling the three goals she outlined at the start of her tenure: reinvigorate the IGDA, reinstate the firm's key role as an advocacy organization, and reemphasize the international aspect of the IGDA's mission.
In her new role at Take This, Edwards will help lead the organization's efforts to raise awareness and combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the video game industry.
"As the game industry is a creative community with ever-growing diversity of individuals and our associated complexities, the mission of Take This is absolutely critical to the long-term well-being of all aspects of the game industry," explained Edwards.
"I am very fortunate for this opportunity to contribute my experience and perspective as a member of the board of directors to help guide the organization towards even greater effectiveness and reach."
