Online monetization platform Live Gamer has acquired video game ad network gamerDNA Media and advertising platform BrandPort, and is set to form a new business unit from the pairing. The new branch, called Live Gamer Media, will offer advertisers an easy method for targeting both hardcore and casual gamers through the shared voice of both acquired companies. Live Gamer Media will also share its unique reach, video engagement and high viral social media capabilities with advertisers, as BrandPort -- now called Ad Elements -- will drive video engagement, while GamerDNA will offer up its 48 million unique monthly visitors. Andrew Schneider, president and co-founder of Live Gamer, explained, "Launching Live Gamer Media through the acquisitions of two impressive companies - gamerDNA and BrandPort - offers advertisers a one-stop partner for connecting with gamers in a whole new way. "We've brought together the reach of display with the innovation and high-engagement levels of virtual goods incentive video - both gamers and advertisers win." Earlier in the year, Live Gamer announced a partnership with Skrill, the operator of payment provider Moneybookers, in aid of creating a monetization engine made especially for online game publishers.
