Online monetization platform Live Gamer has raised $8.5 million in a new round of investor funding. The round was led by venture capital firms Charles River Ventures and Kodiak Venture Partners, and brings Live Gamer's total funding to around $30 million, reports TechCrunch. The New York headquartered company revealed earlier this year that it had partnered with Skrill, the operator of payment provider Moneybookers, to create a monetization engine for online game publishers. It later acquired ad network gamerDNA Media and advertising platform BrandPort and founded a new branch, called Live Gamer Media, for targeting gamers through advertising. The latest game to use Live Gamer's tools is Petroglyph Games' upcoming multiplayer battler Rise of Immortals, which will feature integrated Live Gamer Elements to drive the game's virtual economy.
