Ubisoft has confirmed that, after multiple delays, post-apocalyptic, first-person shooter I Am Alive will finally be released for digital download this winter. A report back in February said that the game would be released via Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network sometime in 2011. Now Ubisoft has sent official word that the game is indeed headed to both Xbox and PS3 as a digital download later this year. I Am Alive follows a man who is trying to find his wife and daughter after a huge disaster called the 'Event'. Society has been destroyed, and people are taking any actions necessary to survive. Players will utilize a unique combat system that revolves around intimidation, while scaling buildings in search of supplies. Adam Novickas, director of marketing at Ubisoft, explained, "We know people have been waiting for this game to arrive, and we believe it’s going to be worth the wait." "I Am Alive presents a unique take on the post-apocalyptic, survival genre by creating more complex and emotional situations for the player. Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network are the perfect platforms to leverage the mature and challenging experiences of the game."
