Newsbrief: San Francisco tech company Ludei has announced CocoonJS, its solution enabling developers to turn their HTML5-powered games into iOS and Android apps without any code changes or new API. Now available with a public beta, CocoonJS can transform HTML5 canvas-based games for mobile platforms. Ludei claims that it can also boost the performance of HTML5 games on mobiles by as much as 1000 percent compared to on mobile browsers. It also offers monetization options through ad networks and in-app purchases, an online multiplayer infrastructure, integration with social networks like Facebook and Twitter, and access to device-specific hardware (e.g. cameras, GPS). HTML5 game developers can see CocoonJS in action at the Game Developers Conference's Smartphone Games Summit.They can also try out the CocoonJS Launcher app to see how their game works in CocoonJS.
