Microsoft is promoting its Windows Phone 7 platform as a gaming hub by releasing a series of six mobile game ports weekly starting May 25, including mobile mega-hit Angry Birds on June 29. The newly announced release schedule and pricing details for the previously revealed Windows Phone 7 titles are as follows: * May 25: Hydro Thunder GO! - $4.99 * June 1: Doodle Jump - $2.99 * June 8: geoDefense - $2.99 * June 15: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 - $6.99 * June 22: Plants vs. Zombies - $4.99 * June 29: Angry Birds - $2.99 All six titles, save Microsoft Game Studios' Hydro Thunder, are already available on iOS at equal or lower prices, with some titles also available on mobile platforms including Android and Palm's Pre. But Microsoft is promoting the Windows Phone 7 ports heavily, stressing support for Xbox Live features such as Achievements and leaderboards and launching a video trailer asking "which will you play first?" Microsoft's nascent mobile platform, launched last November with dozens of games, shipped over 2 million units through late January, with Microsoft making efforts to entice potential buyers with free Xbox 360 games.
