Digital mobile game publisher Fuse Powered has raised $2 million in seed funding from the Blackberry Partners Fund and NFQ Ventures. In a press statement, the company said that it plans to use the funding to hire more staff and add several new game releases to its roster for the next few months, allowing it to expand from "early-stage to fully-established". The money will help the Toronto-based outfit, founded in 2009, work with a number of developers and brand partners to launch mobile titles later this year. Fuse Powered focuses mainly on iPhone titles, and has published a number of official movie games via the App Store, including games based on Jaws and Dawn of the Dead. The publisher's analytics tools allow its mobile development partners to see real-time sales performance, and provides business plans driven by supplied sales data. Fuse recently was selected as a winner of the Canadian Innovation Exchange’s CIX Accelerator Program, granting the company an incubator workspace in San Francisco, which CEO Jon Walsh says will help give the company "an edge in the marketplace".
