Mark Jacobs, formerly CEO at Warhammer Online developer Mythic Entertainment, has founded a new studio that will focus on developing casual games. City State Entertainment has been operating and working on its first title since March, but has now officially opened its doors in Fairfax, Virginia. The studio is made up of 12 full-time employees, including the likes of Andrew Meggs, former Mythic director who co-founded City State with Jacobs, and Lucas Feld, previously an artist at Obsidian Entertainment. Although Jacobs has not yet revealed which platforms the studio will be producing games for, he hinted that he is currently looking at iOS and Android devices, as well as PC and Mac. "We all have iPhones, iPads, PCs, Macs, assorted Android devices, and Facebook & Google+ accounts," the studio's website says. "We might decide to do something useful with them besides playing Angry Birds and Smurfs' Village!" Jacobs originally founded Adventure Unlimited Software in 1983 and worked on games for the Apple II. He later founded Mythic Entertainment in 1995, which was then bought by Electronic Arts in 2006. He eventually left in 2009 when EA announced it was merging the Mythic and BioWare studios into a single group.
