Amazon today launched a new developer program for its Appstore, through which it says it can help mobile and HTML5 game studios get noticed more easily by consumers. Those studios that sign up to the Appstore Developer Select Program will receive half a million free mobile ad impressions across the Amazon Mobile Ad Network, special Amazon Coin rewards for their customers, and 25 percent off Amazon Web Services. To be part of the program, Amazon requires that you exclusively use its In-App Purchasing API, its Mobile Ads API, and its GameCircle social networking system in your games. Notably, those developers who are already on the Amazon Appstore and have fulfilled the above requiremented needn't do anything. Amazon says it is evaluating all apps and games, and will provide the program benefits to each game it decides has met the requirements. These benefits only apply to games that are available on the U.S. Amazon Appstore, and the 500,000 free mobile ad impressions will be delivered for your game within the first five months of app qualification. More details can be found on the official Appstore Developer Select Program page.
