Seoul-based online game publisher and operator Nexon has announced that its American division, Nexon America, saw a 29 percent revenue growth year-over-year for its third fiscal quarter. This represents the division's ninth consecutive quarter of year-on-year revenue growth, according to the company. Nexon said the main highlight for the quarter was the launch of Eyedentity Games-developed online action-MMO Dragon Nest. "We are pleased with the continued rapid growth that we are seeing in North America," said Nexon America CEO Daniel Kim. "Our engaging content and microtransaction-based business model continue to attract new players and to delight our existing players." Nexon is perhaps best known in the Western world as the publisher of MapleStory. Recent rumors suggest that the publisher is eyeing an acquisition of Freestyle sports MMO developer JCE. The company's Facebook debut, MapleStory Adventures, recently surpassed 3 million registered players while still in beta.
