Tomoko Namba, the founder and CEO of major Japanese mobile social game network DeNA, has announced she will be stepping down from her role at the head of the company on June 25. DeNA COO Isao Moriyasu will fill in for Namba, who will continue to advise the company and work in the office a few days a week as she takes care of her hospitalized husband, Reuters reports. "I had originally planned to quit next year, but the timing of my retirement has come a year earlier," she said at a news conference announcing the move. "I am not worried about the future of DeNA." Namba, who said she has long been making decisions jointly with Moriyasu, said she had no plans to start a new company, and was not giving up any of her existing stake in DeNA. After her official resignation, she will hold a seat on the company's board of directors, according to a company statement. DeNA acquired major American mobile game developer Ngmoco last year in a deal worth over $400 million. The company reported earlier this month that year-over-year sales have increased for six straight quarters, leading annual sales to double over the 2009 fiscal year.
