Nintendo 3DS Back on Top In Weekly Japanese Charts

Nintendo's 3DS regained its top spot on the Japanese hardware sales charts for the week ended April 17, halting the PSP's two week reign of the individual hardware versions chart.

Nintendo's 3DS regained its top spot on the Japanese hardware sales charts this week, ending the PSP's two week reign of the individual hardware versions chart. For the week ended April 17, the Nintendo 3DS sold 28,252 units, down more than 4,000 from last week, while the standard PSP hardware sold 23,846 units, down by approximately 11,500 units, reports Japanese news site 4Gamers with data from tracking firm Media Create. Sales on all consoles were down for a second week running, with the DSi LL and the DSi both seeing drops of around 1,000 sales compared to last week. The Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 also saw decreases in sales from last week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended April 17, 2011. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
