The Nintendo 3DS continued its dominance of the weekly Japanese hardware sales charts this week, marking four weeks at the top since the August 12 price drop. Although sales were down roughly 6,000 units, the console still sold 54,744 in total, easily outselling both the PlayStation 3 and the PSP, with 33,831 sales and 30,199 sales respectively, for the week ended September 4. According to data from tracking firm Media Create, and as reported by NeoGAF, sales of both the Sony consoles remained around level compared to last week, as did sales of the Nintendo Wii console. The majority of the chart saw little change compared to last week. Down at the bottom, both the DS Lite and the PSP Go continued to drop in sales, with just 80 DS Lites sold, and seven PSP Gos in total. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended September 4, 2011. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
