Nintendo of America on Monday announced the hiring of Scott Moffitt as its new executive vice president of sales and marketing. He fills the position left vacant after sales and marketing executive Cammie Dunaway left the Mario house last year for a position outside the games industry. Moffitt was originally the SVP of personal care at Henkel of America, where he oversaw brands such as Dial, Right Guard and Tone. Before that he was the VP of SoBe Beverage Co. at PepsiCo, spearheading the launches of Mountain Dew Code Red and AMP Energy Drink brands. He was also director of product innovation at PepsiCo, watching over development of brands such as Sierra Mist, Mountain Dew and Aquafina. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said, "Scott Moffitt makes a marvelous addition to the Nintendo team. His expertise in driving growth will be a terrific asset as we build momentum for the Nintendo 3DS system and continue to reach new audiences for the Wii console." Moffitt noted, "Nintendo is a brand unlike any other. I look forward to helping shape the company’s future for all kinds of players."
