Newsbrief: Nintendo has sold the majority of its controlling stake in the Seattle Mariners baseball team.

The Japanese video game juggernaut has made $661 million from the sale, which was closed earlier this week following MLB approval.

The sale was initially announced in April, after Nintendo reported a drop off in both sales and profits for its most recent fiscal year.

A 10 percent stake has been retained by the console maker, with former Nintendo of America chairman Howard Lincoln representing the company on the Mariner's board of directors.
