Newsbrief: Nintendo revealed a GameCube controller adaptor for the Wii U console this week, allowing for GameCube controllers to be used with the Wii U -- specifically for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Wii U installment. Nintendo showed off the upcoming adapter via a tweet from its official Twitter account. The adapter connects to the Wii U console via USB, and offers four slots for GameCube controllers to be plugged in. Although no additional information was given, it would appear that the adaptor will release alongside Super Smash Bros. on Wii U, due to launch in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year. The Smash Bros logo embossed on the new GameCube pads, along with the wording of the Nintendo tweet, suggest that this might be the only game that works with the adaptor.
