Newsbrief: Nintendo subsidiary The Pokemon Company and Tecmo Koei are co-producing Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition, a Nintendo DS SRPG that mashes the two publishers's respective and long-running franchises. Releasing in Japan next Spring, Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition features the creatures from the Pokemon series in the Warring States/Sengoku setting and interacting with the characters of Koei's Nobunaga's Ambition, which originally appeared on the MSX, NES, and other systems in the 1980s. Nintendo has crossed the Pokemon franchise with other properties only a handful of times with the Mystery Dungeon and the Smash Bros. series. It has a history of collaborating with Tecmo Koei, though, working with the developer's Team Ninja group on 2010's Metroid: Other M for Wii.
