Nordisk Games takes majority stake in Star Stable Entertainment

Star Stable is the Swedish studio behind multiplayer horse adventure game Star Stable Online.

Nordisk Games has become the majority shareholder in Star Stable Entertainment after increasing its stake to almost 57 percent.

Star Stable is the Swedish studio behind multiplayer horse adventure game Star Stable Online, which has more than 1.4 million active monthly players.

Nordisk Games, meanwhile is the video game division of Danish entertainment company Nordisk Film. The company had previously purchased a "substantial" minority stake in Star Stable for $18 million, and has also invested in other notable studios including Avalanche Studio, Supermassive Games, and MercurySteam.

Nordisk Games managing director Mikkel Weider said the company upped its stake in Star Stable because of its "broad and bold" vision for Star Stable Online.
