Majalca -- well-known to journalists, developers, and publicists for over a decade thanks to her work with major industry companies like Nintendo and Sega -- has passed away.
News broke this week that Jennifer Majalca -- who most recently worked as a vice president at PR firm Golin Harris, handling Nintendo's account -- has passed away. Though the news first traveled primarily via social media, Gamasutra has been able to independently confirm it. Over the course of her career, Majalca handled public relations for multiple console platform-holders. She also worked on the Xbox account at Edelman, and for Access PR on Sega's short-lived final console, the Dreamcast. The circumstances surrounding Majalca's death have not been made public, but her Facebook wall contains an outpouring of support from game industry friends and colleagues, who fondly remember her bright personality.
