Skye Boyes, founder and CEO of independent game developer, XGen Studios, passed away peacefully on October 12, the studio has revealed.

A passionate Flash programmer from a young age, Skye founded XGen in 2003 and would go on to see the studio deliver games including Defend Your Castle and PlayStation 4 launch title, Super Motherload.

When he wasn't busy with the day-to-day running of XGen, Skye managed to find time to work on other projects, joining BioWare briefly in 2006 to help the studio successfully deliver Mass Effect

Those who'd like to share their thoughts, sympathies, and memories of Skye can do so on the XGen forums
