Newsbrief: As part of the Oculus Connect conference over the weekend, Oculus VP of product Nate Mitchell provided the latest stats on the virtual reality platform. The Oculus SDK has been downloaded more than 550,000 times says the exec, as reported by Joystiq, while games on the Oculus Share platform have been downloaded nearly 700,000 times. There are now 130,000 users signed up to the Oculus dev center, which suggests that the total number of dev kits sold has risen well past the 100,000 mark that we last saw in July. Oculus has also revealed the next model for its VR kit, called Crescent Bay. The company says the jump from DK2 to this new model is "as big a leap as from DK1 to DK2."
