Free-to-play MMO company Outspark today announced Flint, a new digital distribution platform for developers to publish and operate MMO free-to-play titles. Developers who choose to publish their games through Flint will have access to a community made up of more than 8 million registered players. The company notes that it will be announcing multiple distribution agreements soon that will see the platform bring its reach to more than 200 million potential players. The open API also provides developers with tools for distribution, user acquisition, analytics, monetization, marketing and operations. Outspark states that "Flint is positioned to be the publishing and distribution platform of choice for online games in the digital space." Susan Choe, CEO of Outspark, explained, "We've spent almost five years carefully creating the modules and building the tools that have come together as Flint and will enable MMO developers and publishers around the world to use our platform." "With our recent move into publishing third-party titles, web-based MMOs and our growing reach through distribution partnerships, we intend to make Flint the best platform for online game distribution and operation." The first game to be published via the new platform is Lord of Ages, a fantasy MMORTS that was launched last week on the Outspark website.
