Ahead of an expected E3 showing, Sony has announced the first batch of confirmed titles for its code-named Next Generation Portable, including games in the Uncharted, WipEout and Super Stardust franchises. A post on the European PlayStation blog lays out basic information about eight NGP titles, including Novarama's augmented-reality fighter Reality Fighters, mini-game collection Little Deviants and tentatively-titled music-based platformer Sound Shapes - the first title from Jon Mak after the acclaimed Everyday Shooter. The post also details planned NGP backwards compatibility with PSP titles downloaded from the PlayStation Store, including added support for the hardware's second analog stick in PSP titles such as Resistance: Retribution. The newly named Uncharted: Golden Abyss seems poised to be one of the highest profile titles for the upcoming hardware, telling a story that's separate from the storylines in existing PlayStation 3 Uncharted games. The post also discusses planned cross-platform play between the upcoming WipEout 2048 for NGP and WipEout HD Fury on PS3. Sony also details multiple games that use the unit's dual camera and touch inputs. Also confirmed for NGP is Everybody's Golf (known as Hot Shots in North America), the pool game Hustle Kings and Super Stardust Delta. First revealed in January, the code-named NGP is currently planned to launch in at least one region before the end of the year, according to Sony.
