Private Division, Take-Two's boutique publishing label known for publishing The Outer Worlds and Kerbal Space Program, has signed publishing deals with four notable independent developers, including the creators of the award-winning Apple Arcade game Mutazione.

The four studios signing with Private Division are Die Gute Fabrik, Evening Star, Piccolo Studio, and Yellow Brick Games. Die Gute Fabrik and Piccolo Studio have both published critically-acclaimed narrative titles, while Yellow Brick Games and Evening Star boast plenty of triple-A pedigrees behind their unannounced action titles.

Speaking by e-mail with Game Developer, Private Division vice president of marketing Tom Bass sung the praises of each of these studios, and explained that a dire for "critical potential" was one uniting factor in bringing them under Private Division's banner.

"No matter the size of the studio or game, we believe each of these will be extremely high quality experiences that we hope will share some honors at launch and at the end of the season award recognitions," he explained.

For developers curious about working with Private Division, Bass did provide some concrete details on how it looks to strategize while working across different genres. "One key benefit to every developer we work with is that we’re able to efficiently target multiple audiences using our marketing technology stack, built internally and with Take-Two," Bass explained.

"This allows us to accurately measure the efficacy of each media campaign, making frequent optimizations to ensure we’re spending the marketing funds wisely."

Vice president of production Allen Murray also explained that Take-Two's broader business tools can be leveraged for the benefit of Private Division partners. "Because we are part of a larger organization with Take-Two and have access to their business data and marketing tools, we’re confident that we have an advantage when it comes to distribution reach and marketing effectiveness," he explained.
