Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list. This week brings Battlefield 3, Dance Central 2, and Daytona USA to North America, while Japan gets Final Fantasy Type-0 and The Idolm@ster 2. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending October 29th, 2011. Games Released in the United States: EA DICE's first-person shooter Battlefield 3 hits store shelves in North America and Europe this week for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. Arriving at retail three weeks prior to the launch of Activision's competing title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 boasts a cooperative mode, a variety of controllable vehicles, and competitive multiplayer for up to 24 simultaneous players on consoles and 64 players in the PC edition. Other standout console titles debuting stateside this week include Nintendo's Kirby series sequel Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Harmonix's Kinect dance sim sequel Dance Central 2, and a PlayStation Move-enhanced PS3 port for Sega's light gun shooter The House of the Dead: Overkill. A remake of Sega's classic arcade racer Daytona USA heads up this week's digital download lineup. Xbox Live Arcade will also see a Zombie Apocalypse sequel and the 2D platformer The War of the Worlds, while the PlayStation Network hosts a vampire-themed inFamous 2 expansion and Q Games' shooter PixelJunk SideScroller.
