Release This: Star Wars: The Old Republic Launches Worldwide

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list. This week brings the worldwide launch of BioWare's PC MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, while Frozenbyte's Trine 2 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Games Released in the United States: BioWare's anticipated MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic launches this week, effectively replacing Sony Online Entertainment's Star Wars Galaxies, which shut down last week. The Old Republic boasts eight starting classes divided among Republic and Empire factions, along with an extensive player morality system. Running With Scissors' first-person shooter Postal III is also set to arrive for PC platforms this week, as Frozenbyte's downloadable puzzle-platformer Trine 2 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
