Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list. This week brings the worldwide launch of BioWare's PC MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, while Frozenbyte's Trine 2 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending December 24th, 2011. Games Released in the United States: BioWare's anticipated MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic launches this week, effectively replacing Sony Online Entertainment's Star Wars Galaxies, which shut down last week. The Old Republic boasts eight starting classes divided among Republic and Empire factions, along with an extensive player morality system. Running With Scissors' first-person shooter Postal III is also set to arrive for PC platforms this week, as Frozenbyte's downloadable puzzle-platformer Trine 2 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Nintendo Wii: - Soccer Up! PC: - Eudemons Online: Trumpet of the Legionnaire (online) - Postal III - Star Wars: The Old Republic Games Released in Europe: Star Wars: The Old Republic is the only retail title set to ship this week in Europe, according to retailer GAME. PC: - Star Wars: The Old Republic Games Released in Japan: Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors crossover sequel Musou Orochi 2 debuts in Japan this week. Other awaited titles set to premiere in the coming days include Namco Bandai's 3DS strategy-RPG SD Gundam G Generation 3D and Level 5's arcade-styled soccer sim Inazuma Eleven Strikers 2012 Xtreme for the Wii.
