Google is looking to add plug-and-play features to its Chrome web browser, that will allow a gamepad to interact with web content, according to media reports. Talking at the Develop conference in Liverpool, and as reported by business news website Develop, Google developer advocate Paul Kinlan said that the company is looking to add the capabilities early next year. The browser will include options for a plug-and-play gamepad, webcams and microphone support, along with open source video and voice chat WebRTC. This new initiative means that cloud gaming and live video chat services may well be possible through the browser in the future. Chrome already has its own Web Store, an HTML5-based app marketplace that operates on top of the web browser, including games from Electronic Arts and numerous other developers.
