Nintendo has dropped the price on its Wii console in the UK to £129.99, with some retailers offering a new Mario Kart Wii bundle at an even lower price. The Wii and DS creator confirmed earlier in the month that it would be releasing a new Wii bundle at a reduced £129.99 price point. However, UK retailers have gone even lower, with some such as GAME offering the new bundle at £99.99. The new bundle comes with the console, plus a copy of Mario Kart Wii and the Wii Wheel accessory, as well as a Wii Remote Plus controller and Nunchuk controller. The price drop comes as Nintendo prepares to reveal details about the Wii's home console successor at June's E3 in Los Angeles. The company said it plans to launch the new console sometime in 2012. A new 'Nintendo Selects' range of games has also been released in the UK, offering past popular Wii titles at reduced prices. Four games, Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City, Mario Strikers Charged, Warioware: Smooth Moves and Wii Sports are now available at an RRP price of £19.99. The U.S. also saw a Wii price drop earlier in the week, as the console was reduced to a $149.99 price point, down from the previous RRP of $199.99.
