As preparations for this year's GDC Europe event in Cologne, Germany pick up speed, the GDC team is excited to debut two more expert talks for the upcoming August conference.

These two sessions feature practical, nuts-and-bolts technical game design learnings from expert developers at both Riot Games (League of Legends) and IO-Interactive (Hitman Absolution).

Notably, Riot's Adalsteinn Alli Ottarsson will be delivering a production-minded talk on how the folks who operate League of Legends scaled up to keep the game running smoothly as its global popularity exploded. Check out "Scaling Player-Focused Development in League of Legends" to learn how to establish a scaled-up, player-focused development organization using Agile and Lean production methodologies.

In over five years Riot's number of live game environments has risen from 1 to 43, while the size of the development team has grown 10x; come to GDC Europe this year to find out how it happened, and what you can learn from the experience.

Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes on select aspects of IO-Interactive's development of its next Hitman game by sitting in on "Modular Sandbox Design: Tools and Workflow for Hitman."

Programmer Marinus Rorbech will break down how and why IO-Interactive has changed its traditional monolithic level structure into a much more modular structure to reuse game components across missions, and how it has improved the team's productivity. Specific tools and workflows will be discussed, and attendees will walk away with a deeper apprecation for sandbox game design.

And of course, these talks are just two of the many exciting sessions that will be announced for GDC Europe 2015 in the coming weeks. You can find full details on all announced talks over on the GDC Europe Schedule Builder, and early birds can register for GDC Europe 2015 by July 8th to save 200 euros on an All Access Pass. The conference itself will take place August 3rd and 4th in Cologne, Germany.

GDC Europe 2015 will also continue to offer business and matchmaking opportunities to all attendees with a developer-focused Expo Floor area and networking events throughout the show. For more information, please visit the GDC Europe website.
