Roach Interactive and the Uphill Battle for Mobile Games

Normally I don't post podcasts here, but this one talking about the mobile space was too good not to mention here.

Normally I avoid directly crossposting podcasts from Game-Wisdom here on Gamasutra, and usually mention them as supplemental to other posts. But this one is different, and the content is too good to leave it to chance that it gets a mention here.

I spoke with Rahul Sehgal of Roach Interactive, who has made several posts here talking about the challenges of making his latest game: Bird of Light. On the cast we spoke about the state of the India Game Development scene and the game, but the big topic was on the mobile market.

Rahul talked about the struggles he had as a developer trying to break into mobile development and how what he saw and experienced led him to switching to Steam and PC development for the main version of his title. It's a fasinating and important listen for developers trying to break in with something different and why I'm posting about it here.

If it's okay and there is an audience who wants the latest updates, I'll be happy to make weekly posts here about it; if not, then I will save the podcast postings as supplemental content for upcoming posts.
