Zoo World developer RockYou has revealed that the company's former SVP, Jonathan Knight, has left the company to take an unannounced position at Zynga.
Social developer RockYou (Zoo World, Galactiv Allies) has announced that the company's senior vice president of games, Jonathan Knight, has left the company to take an unannounced position at Zynga, reports Inside Social Games. Knight joined RockYou last year to help the company expand its games business as it transitioned away from its roots as a photo app developer and advertising network. While at the company, he helped oversee the launch of the Zoo World titles, and helped the company acquire developers including 3 Blokes, Playdemic, and TirNua. "We hired [Knight] to help us build out a portfolio of great products and he’s done the job," RockYou CEO Lisa Marino told Inside Social Games. "We have built a strong team of talent through a careful hiring process, our Studio Partners program, and acquisitions over the past year. The departure of Jonathan will not impact our game development pipeline or our plans to continue to launch quality titles." Before jumping into social game development, Knight spent nine years at Electronic Arts working on franchises like The Sims, The Simpsons, and Dante's Inferno.
