Despite slipping well past its previous summer release window, the Facebook version of Rovio's Angry Birds is still very much alive, and is due to hit the social network on February 14. Speaking to Asia-focused news site Penn Olson, Rovio's "Mighty Eagle" Peter Vesterbacka said that the company has some big plans in store for sharing the popular mobile game with Facebook's 800 million users. To commemorate the new game, Vesterbacka said Rovio would host a launch event in Jakarta, Indonesia, since that region is the second largest Facebook market worldwide, says Penn Olson. In addition, Rovio plans to update this version of Angry Birds by introducing some brand new changes, adding new power-ups, bird types, and other content, some of which will be available to purchase via in-game microtransactions. Despite Rovio's impressive growth over the last few years, the company said last week that it would refrain from entering the stock market in 2012, though it hopes to make an initial public offer within the next few years.
