Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from December 8th, 2011, find Just Dance 3 and Modern Warfare 3 leading domestic multiplatform sales, while Mario Kart 7 heads the portable charts worldwide. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Multiplatform North America: 1. Just Dance 3 (Ubisoft, Wii), 2. The Wii version of Ubisoft's Just Dance 3 maintains its sales lead over Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim in North America and the UK. The Kinect-enabled Xbox 360 edition also proves to be a popular pick in this week's domestic sales charts. In Japan, meanwhile, Nintendo's Mario Kart 7 premieres as this week's top seller across all platforms, as Skyrim captures two chart spots in its debut week. Nintendo Wii North America: 1. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword reports strong sales stateside, but comes up short against reigning chart leader Just Dance 3. Elsewhere, Hoshi no Kirby Wii (Kirby's Return to Dreamland) reclaims the top chart spot in Japan, as Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games emerges as a big seller in the UK. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 remains the Xbox 360's biggest seller in North America, Skyrim emerges as the week's overall top title in Europe. Modern Warfare 3 leads over Uncharted 3 as this week's most popular PlayStation 3 title in the United States. After topping the domestic PC charts for the last two weeks, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim drops to second place following a surge in sales for EA's The Sims 3: Pets.
