Newsbrief: Scotland has a new indie studio on its hands in the form of Rhizome Games, launched this month by three developers operating out of a converted whisky distillery warehouse in Glasgow.

The founding team is led by ex-AAA director/designer Pete Low and includes artist Tom Gane and programmer Shaun Campbell.

Prior to founding Rhizome, Low spent a significant amount of time at studios like Radical and Hothead working on everything from NHL Powerplay '96 to Scarface: The World Is Yours and The Baconing.

Going forward, Rhizome aims to publish its first game to Steam later this year.
