Newsbrief: Film and television agency Screen Australia said earlier this year that it was planning to invest in Australia's video game industry. The company has now followed through on this promise, helping to fund a total of 21 games in its first round. A total of $2.6 million has been pumped into these indie studios for this first round, and Screen Australia says that it had a massive number of applications from game studios for the funding. The games production funding round includes games like Assault Android Cactus from Witch Beam Games, Framed from Loveshack Entertainment, Towncraft from Flat Earth Games, and Locomotivation from Garoo Games. The full list of funded titles can be found on the Screen Australia website.
