Something that I found interesting about the reading is that people are spending more in using their VR devices than expected. Sony Interactive Entertainment Head of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, stated that “people are spending many hours on the system every day.” He himself did not even expect people to be using the device as long as they were.

The part of the reading that will have the most influence on my work is the advice to file patents to secure your intellectual property early because you will face competition from google and other companies at one point no matter how unique your idea is. Something else that I will take into account in my work is that Sony, Facebook, Google, and Samsung dominate 50% of the VR market, so if I decide to release a game for one or multiple platforms it would be one of theirs.

This reading applies to me because as a game artist I will want to create content for platforms that sell the most copies of games.

The most important takeaway is that it's important to be developing for the right platforms to make the most money. It's also important to secure your data so that you don't lose money to your competition.
