Although earning "trophies" on PlayStation platforms has always been a cosmetic element for your online profile, Sony will soon provide a way to reap some worth from your video game endevaours. As part of a new scheme called Greatness Awaits, PSN users will be able to bid on PlayStation memorabilia using their hard-earned Gold trophies via an online auction website. Items you will be able to bid on include costumes, concept art, and rare objects from games like Killzone, The Last of Us, Skyrim, Infamous, and Diablo III. Bidding has already started on one item, and 15 items in total will be put up for auction before the end of the month. Note that the trophies that you bid will still remain on your profile after the auctions are over. You'll also need to be a U.S. resident, as the offer is only open to PSN users in the States.
