Sony's Santa Monica studio, best known for the God of War series, is planning to up sticks and move down the coast to the Playa Vista area. The studio is one of Sony's most successful video game subsidiaries, which not only develops its own IP, but also helps to fund and provide support for third-party titles on PlayStation consoles. Now the company is leaving its headquarters in Santa Monica and moving into a larger facility in Playa Vista called The Reserve, where many big-name companies already reside, such as the YouTube team. The move will occur sometime this summer. Shannon Studstill, founder and head of Sony Santa Monica, told Variety that although the Santa Monica studio had been based at its current headquarters for over a decade, the company simply needs the additional space. It currently houses over 240 employees. More info can be found at Variety.
