Newsbrief: Along with hiring mobile veteran Ben Cusack as the head of its expanding mobile team in London, Square Enix has licensed his puzzler KooZac to publish its upcoming smartphone and tablet versions. Cusack originally launched KooZac several years ago as a Flash-based web game, and it has since picked up awards and more than 15 million plays online. Square Enix intends to release an updated and re-imagined version of the title for Android and iOS devices sometime in the first quarter of 2012. Kusack previously worked at firms like Zed and Mobile Interactive Group.
