The PS4 has now sold 2.1M hardware units worldwide

Following the news that the PlayStation 4 sold 1 million hardware units in its first 24 hours on sale in the U.S., Sony has now revealed that worldwide sales of the new console have surpassed 2.1 million.

Newsbrief: Following the news that the PlayStation 4 sold 1 million hardware units in its first 24 hours on sale in the U.S., Sony has now revealed that worldwide sales of the new console have surpassed 2.1 million. The console was released on November 29 in Europe and Australasia, two weeks after it launched in the U.S., and has sold 700,000 units in its opening weekend across those regions. The PS4 also launched in Latin America on the same date. Sony also noted that the "Share" functionality of the PlayStation 4 is getting a workout, with 6.5 million shares captured worldwide to date.
